Site Lead (Foreman)

Due to ongoing growth and key project wins DStevens is actively seeking a carpenter to join our construction team as a Site Lead in a role that is hands-on and engaging. 

As a Site Lead, you will be responsible for the daily running of a project site, engaging with key stakeholders, and leading a team of skilled tradespeople, apprentices and labourers. The ideal candidate will be required to demonstrate their ability to translate design aspirations through technically-sound solutions into built excellence. You must possess managerial courage, take initiative, act with kindness to other people, remain calm under pressure, and demonstrate a desire to lift others up through training and mentoring.

If you have the following attributes, skills and experience, we would love to hear from you.

  • Be a team player who can contribute to a vibrant and creative team culture;

    Good communication skills and be able to manage and coordinate sub-contractors and specialist trades;

    Excellent self-checking, quality management and reporting skills;

    Proven time management skills;

    A good technical capability and enthusiasm for the role.

  • Have at least 5 years construction experience;

    Hold certification as a Qualified Carpenter and/or Licensed Building Practitioner;

    Have a strong and solid understanding of NZ construction and legislative compliance;

    Be familiar with the use of heavy machinery and tools to construct various stages of a project.
