Fifty-three years ago, DStevens saw an opportunity to expand their services to include Rylock™ aluminium windows and doors. Led by Len Pierce, a small team of local aluminium fabricators and installers at DStevens set out to create quality windows and doors for residential and commercial buildings in Gisborne. The service has since grown to become an integral part of the construction company. Now led by Dylan Ngatoro, our aluminium team are just as dedicated to creating innovative and stylish windows and doors that meets the demands of Gisborne’s environment.

The Rylock™ brand was first started in New Zealand back in 1954 as a manufacturer of aluminium fly screens. With cost effective and practical aluminium joinery, Rylock™ has gone on to become one of New Zealand's most well-known joinery brands for new homes, renovations and commercial buildings.

There have been significant changes in the building industry over the last five decades. DStevens have always been at the forefront of the aluminium joinery industry, providing its customers with the most up to date products and features on the market. From the introduction of double-glazing to investing in world-class fabrication equipment. More recently, changes to New Zealand’s Building Code have focussed on making new homes and buildings warmer, drier, and healthier, with less impact on the climate.
