Intermediate Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Due to ongoing growth, an exciting opportunity exists for a Intermediate Quantity Surveyor/Estimator within our vibrant Gisborne office to assist our construction and joinery teams with project procurement, pricing and tendering.

As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor/Estimator you will be responsible for assisting our construction and joinery teams with cost management and project services from planning to completion. In this role, you will be involved in the preparation of estimates, cost plans, and schedules of rates including completing takeoffs, pricing, quality assurance checks and preparing variations. You will also get the opportunity to work on larger and more complex projects with support and guidance from an experienced Quantity Surveyor within our team.

  • Be a team player who can contribute to a vibrant and creative team culture;

    Good communication skills and be able to coordinate with clients, project teams, sub-contractors and specialist trades;

    Excellent self-checking, quality management and reporting skills;

    Proven time management skills;

    High attention to detail and accuracy;

    A competent user of Microsoft Office 365.

  • Hold a tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying (National Diploma or equivalent);

    Have a strong and solid understanding of NZ construction and legislative compliance;

    Be familiar with QS requirements under NZ building contracts, such as NZS3910.

    Be comfortable producing accurate progress claims, certifying subcontractor payments and invoices, and managing variations and EOT’s.
