Eastland Port wins at the NZIA Local Architecture Awards

The annual New Zealand Institute of Architects Local Architecture Awards were held in Napier on Friday 7 May at the MTG Theatre. Nine projects from across the East Coast region were shortlisted by the jury in March – including FAB ONE and Eastland Port Offices – before the winners were announced at the awards ceremony on Friday.

DStevens is thrilled that Eastland Port has won the Interior Architecture category at the NZIA Gisborne & Hawkes Bay Local Architecture Awards. Congratulations to our clients, the design team, and all who were involved in this incredible project.

Eastland Port Offices

Eastland Port’s new offices, designed by Architects44, received an award in the Interior Architecture category.

The judge’s citation reads: This refurbishment of a former Gisborne port building successfully responds to the client’s brief for a combined corporate office. Along with a clearly planned relocation of the building’s entry, the architect has intentionally created an internal typology using the raw materials that flow through the port to reinforce the client’s brand, while also providing clearly articulated junctions between old and new.
