PETER STEVENS

Managing Director

 

Peter Stevens is the Managing Director of DStevens and leads our Construction Division. Before being named Managing Director is 1998, Peter was DStevens' General Manager. Peter has over 40 years of experience in construction. He is responsible for the companies contracts and operations, including end-to-end delivery of numerous projects.

KENT MORSE

Joinery Divisions Manager

 

Kent Morse is DStevens’ Divisions Manager, reporting to Managing Director Peter Stevens. Kent leads the Joinery and Rylock divisions of DStevens, covering a wide range of internal and external environments. 

Kent joined DStevens in 2010 to lead development and expansion of DStevens' Joinery team. He is responsible for the oversight and delivery of all Joinery and Rylock projects undertaken by DStevens.

FIONA HOUSTON-STEVENS

Interior Designer

 

Fiona Houston-Stevens is an Interiors Consultant for DStevens. Fiona is an extremely effective communicator; listening intently to clients and their brief. Since rejoining DStevens in early 2013 Fiona has worked closely with our experienced Joinery team to create beautiful interior environments. 

Prior to DStevens, Fiona had an extensive freelance career spanning Interiors and Fashion Design. Fiona gained a Diploma of Fashion from the London College of Fashion in London,

Qualified Carpenter

 

Due to ongoing growth and key project wins, DStevens is actively seeking a qualified carpenter to join our construction team. We are an innovative team with a focus on built excellence. Our projects benefit from the close integration of quality and craft. Our teams are engaged in a range of high-profile commercial, residential, education, health and retail projects throughout Gisborne.

The candidates should demonstrate their ability to translate design aspirations through technically sound solutions to support and deliver built excellence. The successful applicant must be eligible to work in New Zealand. If successful you will be required to undergo a full reference check. 

 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 6 years project delivery experience. This position is also open to unqualified persons who are currently completing or have recently completed an apprenticeship - contact us for more information.
  • Hold certification as a Qualified Carpenter
  • Be a team player, and willing to participate in a vibrant and creative workshop culture
  • Have a very good and solid understanding of NZ commercial construction and NZ compliance environment
  • Have good communication skills and be able to manage and coordinate clients, contractors, sub-contractors
  • Have excellent self-checking, quality management and reporting skills
  • Have a good technical capability and enthusiasm for the role
  • Be familiar with the use of heavy machinery and tools to construct various stages of a project.

 

QUALIFIED JOINER

 

DStevens are looking for a Qualified Joiner who is ready to lead and deliver high quality joinery projects. We are seeking candidates who have a broad range of skills and expertise. We will assist in your development and help grow your success as a member of our team. 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a range of exciting, complex and challenging projects. You will be able to find technically sound solutions to support and deliver built excellence. 

Requirements

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 4-6 years previous experience as a joiner. This position is also open to unqualified persons who are currently completing or have recently completed an apprenticeship - contact us for more information.
  • Hold certification as a Qualified Joiner
  • Be a team player, and willing to participate in a vibrant and creative workshop culture
  • Have a very good and solid understanding of NZ commercial construction and NZ compliance environment
  • Have good communication skills and be able to manage and coordinate clients, contractors, sub-contractors
  • Have excellent self-checking, quality management and reporting skills
  • Have a good technical capability and enthusiasm for the role
  • Be familiar with the use of machinery to assemble cabinetry and timber windows & doors.

 

ESTIMATOR / QUANTITY SURVEYOR

 

We're interested in hearing from Estimators / Quantity Surveyors who would like to join our growing team. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop your interest in this field, including involvement in a variety of construction, joinery and interiors projects from the design phase through to delivery.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have at least 2-4 years previous experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction industry. This position is also open to unqualified persons who are currently completing or have recently completed an apprenticeship - contact us for more information.
  • Ideally be tertiary qualified in construction or a related discipline
  • Be a team player, and willing to participate in a vibrant and creative workshop culture
  • Have a very good and solid understanding of NZ commercial construction and NZ compliance environment
  • Have good communication skills and be able to manage and coordinate clients, contractors, sub-contractors
  • Have excellent self-checking, quality management and reporting skills
  • Have a high level of computer skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Project)
