Pioneer Seeds - Treatment Building

$0.00

Commercial – 2015

In 2015, DStevens began work on a new Treatment Building at the Pioneer Seeds Banks Street campus in Gisborne. Our client’s vision was to provide a high-quality and safe working environment that aids growth and operating efficiency at their Banks Street campus.

Before construction began on site, we worked closely with Pioneer Seeds and the wider consultant team to establish a project timeline and outline a comprehensive operations approach to deliver the building. Pioneer Seeds had an early-season corn crop harvest due for processing and required the building to be operational as soon as possible. To deliver the building on time, we identified areas of the project works that could overlap and implemented fast-tracked phasing in our programme of works.

We adapted our planned site methodology to have large specialist equipment – usually installed at the completion of a build – installed prior to the structural framing and wall cladding. The earlier installation allowed Pioneer Seeds to spend extra time commissioning the machinery while the building works continued in parallel to be ready for the first crop to arrive.

Our experienced project team worked collaboratively across the campus to achieve completion three weeks ahead of schedule.
